Back to Nature

Nathaniel, Julian, Hildegardy!
Sure the stock is far from hardy,
And the name once heard with awe
Now provokes the loud guffaw—
“Hawthorne” in the memory dear,
“Haw-haw-hawthorne” in the ear!
