The Fiend’s Delight
Bierce's first book, published over the pen name Dod Grile. The Poesy division of it holds the eight poems the corpus takes from here; the rest of the volume is prose. Its title page reads simply “New York: 1873.” The witness is Project Gutenberg's transcription, not a page scan, so the printing behind it is not established beyond what that title page says. George Francis Train stands here as “Epitaph on George Francis Train”, subtitled “Inscribed on a Pork-barrel”; Standard Ebooks prints it among the On Stone epitaphs, which is why the corpus record carries that container.
Numbers rank the poems whose position in the book is known; they are not page numbers.
