Al Aaraaf, Tamerlane, and Minor Poems

The witness is a concatenation of the Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore's transcriptions of the 1933 Facsimile Text Society reprint of the Hatch & Dunning 1829 volume, in that volume's printed order. The 1829 book has no table of contents. Seven poems still loose after 1827 were assigned from the witness. Tamerlane, Song, The Lake, Spirits of the Dead, and A Dream are in the book and already sit in Tamerlane and Other Poems (1827). To —— opening "Should my early life seem" is on the page (headed TO —— ——) and is an early form of A Dream Within a Dream; the corpus holds the 1849 recension beginning "Take this kiss upon the brow!", which scored 0.00, and that record stays loose. The threshold was not lowered. Romance matched by opening line: the 1829 heading is PREFACE, not Romance, so sequence stays null. To and To (to-2) share the corpus title To ⸻; the page distinguishes TO —— —— ("The bowers whereat, in dreams, I see") from TO M—— ("O! I care not that my earthly lot"), and both keep sequence null because the orderer will not guess between duplicate titles. tools/books.py order placed the four whose corpus titles match a heading (Sonnet — To Science, Al Aaraaf, To the River, Fairyland). The facsimile page of Sonnet — To Science begins with the verse; the title is in the transcription's wrapper. The corpus text is still the Collier/Standard Ebooks gathering, not the 1829 page.

Numbers rank the poems whose position in the book is known; they are not page numbers.
