The Raven and Other Poems

The witness is Documenting the American South's double-keyed TEI of the Duke University copy (C-7 P743N) of Wiley & Putnam's 1845 volume. The range in membership.witnesses is the first half, from THE RAVEN through Scenes from Politian, before the youth reprints. Fourteen poems still loose after 1827–1831 were assigned from that range. The youth section reprints earlier work already placed. Politian is in the book and not in the corpus. tools/books.py order placed seven whose corpus titles match a heading (The Raven, The Coliseum, Lenore, To Zante, To One in Paradise, The Conqueror Worm, The Haunted Palace). The other seven keep sequence null: Dreamland is headed DREAM-LAND, Eulalie is headed EULALIE—A SONG, Hymn is headed CATHOLIC HYMN, Silence is headed SONNET—SILENCE, The Bridal Ballad is headed BRIDAL BALLAD, and To Frances S. Osgood and To F⸺ are headed with em-dash elisions the corpus titles do not match as a witness line. The sixteen that stay loose were not in the four lifetime volumes as the recensions this gathering holds, or first appeared after 1845, or are manuscript/periodical pieces whose own witnesses are not these books: Annabel Lee, The Bells, Eldorado, For Annie, To My Mother, Ulalume, A Valentine, An Enigma, To Helen (Whitman), To Marie Louise, To Marie Louise Shew, Alone, An Acrostic, Elizabeth, Serenade, and A Dream Within a Dream. The corpus text is still the Collier/Standard Ebooks gathering, not the 1845 page.
