A Cycle of the West
No single year, and the year stays null for that reason — but the five poems are dated individually, each from the volume that printed it, and released on 2026-08-21. The two short pieces are dedications and are dated with the Song they stand in front of: "To Sigurd, Scarcely Three" opens The Song of Hugh Glass, "To Alice, Three Years Old" opens The Song of the Indian Wars. Each copyright page was read: Hugh Glass says "Published October, 1915. Reprinted June, 1919" off the same electrotyped plates, so the 1919 scan on disk carries the 1915 contents unchanged; Three Friends is "Copyright, 1919"; Indian Wars is "Copyright, 1925 ... Published June, 1925". This Standard Ebooks gathering holds three original volumes, The Song of Hugh Glass (1915), The Song of Three Friends (1919), and The Song of the Indian Wars (1925). The fetched Hugh Glass scan songofhughglass00neih prints 1919 on the title page (Macmillan, with Julius T. House notes) and copyright 1915, 1919; Internet Archive metadata for the same item says 1922. It is not the 1915 first printing. Three Friends songthree00neihrich is Macmillan 1919. Indian Wars bp_574832 is Macmillan 1925, signed limitation. The cycle title is the gathering's; Jed Smith (1941) and The Song of the Messiah (1935) are not in it.
