Publication year deliberately null. Leaves of Grass went through six lifetime editions between 1855 and 1892 and one year cannot stand for the book. What IS established, 2026-08-12: the text on disk is the 1891-92 arrangement or a later reprint of it, because it contains both annexes — poems extracted from sands-at-seventy.xhtml and goodbye-my-fancy.xhtml — and those were first gathered into Leaves of Grass in 1891-92. It is therefore not the 1855, 1856, 1860-61, 1867, 1871 or 1881-82 book. Which printing of the 1891-92 setting it follows is still unknown and needs the Standard Ebooks content.opf, which is not on disk. CORRECTION, same date: the scan named as this book's witness, leavesgrass03whitgoog, is NOT the 1891-92 edition. Its title page reads 'Boston / SMALL, MAYNARD & COMPANY / 1897' over a copyright list ending 1891. It had been described in this project's working notes as 'the 1891-92 Whitman scan', and every collation worksheet for this poet was built against it, as was the corpus's one recorded correction (fancies-at-navesink). The 1897 Small, Maynard printing is a reprint of the 1891-92 setting, so it is a reasonable witness — but it is a different book from the one the corpus said it was, and no worksheet built on it can be cited as evidence about the 1891-92 printing itself.
